Self-Assessment 2018 - What can Clarity365 help with?

As long as you have kept your Clarity365 account up to date with all your financial information for the past tax year you can use Clarity365 to help with your self-assessment tax return.

 

Total amount of allowable expenses

You can find your total amount of allowable expenses by navigating to the control tower:

Control Tower

  1. Go to Control Tower > Click the Expenses tab >  
  2. Select Financial Year to Date
  3. View the expenses data

Budget Summary Report

  1. Go to Reports > Select Budget Summary Report
  2. Select a Date range> Click Generate
  3. Click Print or Export

 

 

On the Self Employment (short) form

You can find your turnover by navigating to the Profit & Loss tab on your control tower or by creating a budget summary report.

  1. Go to Control Tower
  2. Click Profit & Loss
  3. Click Financial Year to Date

Or

  1. Go to Reports > Select Budget Summary Report
  2. Select a Date range> Click Generate
  3. Click Print or Export

 

Allowable Business Expenses

All of the ‘allowable business expenses’ section (providing you have assigned your expenses to the correct GL codes)

Manage Expenses – Reporting

Using the reporting tab on the Manage Expenses module you can filter by GL code to find the total for each section

  1. Go to Manage expenses
  2. Click the Reporting tab
  3. Click Search
  4. Alternatively choose a date, GL code or Cost Centre (if applicable) and click Search
  5. Click Export to download your report

 

Net Profit or Net Loss

This is in your Profit & Loss tab on your control tower. Download a Budget Variance Report for more detailed information.

 

On the Employment form

The table below shows where you can find the information required inside Clarity365.

  Fuel for company cars & vans

  Use the reporting tab on the Manage Expenses module and filter by GL code

  Accommodation provided by your employer 

  Business travel & subsistence expenses

  Professional fees & subscriptions

  Other expenses & capital allowances

  Expenses payments received & balancing charges

  Manage Expenses > Payment History
